Christ-Centered Easter for Kids & Youth

Christ-Centered Easter for Kids & Youth

Easter is a beautiful time to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope that comes through Him. For many families, it’s also a season filled with traditions, treats, and springtime fun. The good news is that even simple activities can become meaningful ways to help children understand the message of Easter.

Many families like to include things like reading the Resurrection story, creating empty tomb crafts, or baking symbolic treats together. Even familiar Easter symbols like eggs, chicks, and lambs can open the door to conversations about new life, rebirth, and Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God.

When Easter traditions are centered on Christ, even small activities can become memorable teaching moments for children.

To make it easy to add something meaningful to your celebration, two free Easter printable activities for kids are included below. These simple activities work well for family Easter celebrations, Primary lessons, Activity Days activities, Young Women's/Young Men's, Sunday school, homeschool lessons, or church youth groups.

He is Risen Snack Mix

Another fun way to teach Easter symbolism is through food. This Easter snack mix activity uses simple pantry items to represent parts of the Easter story.

Children help mix the ingredients while discussing the symbols connected to Christ’s Resurrection.

Ingredients:

  • Craisins
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Ritz crackers
  • Marshmallows
  • M&M’s
  • Pretzels
  • Goldfish crackers

Print the snack tag so the mix can be shared with friends, neighbors, or church groups. This makes a great activity for Activity Days, Primary classes, youth groups, Family Home Evening, or Easter gatherings.

Nature Tomb Scene

This hands-on activity combines a spring nature walk with a simple Easter craft that teaches the story of the empty tomb.

Children gather natural items like grass, flowers, or small leaves and use them to decorate a printable Easter tomb scene. The activity creates a visual reminder of the morning when Jesus’ tomb was found empty.

How to use the activity:

  1. Download and print the tomb scene printable
  2. Use scissors or a hole punch to create openings where marked
  3. Insert real flowers, grass, or leaves gathered outside
  4. Talk together about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ

This activity works especially well for families, Primary classes, Activity Days groups, and younger children because it combines movement, nature, and hands-on learning.

Pull-Tab Empty Tomb Craft

”Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here:
behold the place where they laid him.” Mark 16:6

This printable, pull-tab tomb scene is a fun way to help kids understand the miracle of the Resurrection through the empty tomb. Simply color, cut pieces on the dotted line, thread the pull tab where designated, and pull to reveal the Resurrected Christ and empty tomb!

Activities don’t need to be complicated to help children feel the spirit of Easter. Simple traditions like crafts, snacks, and family discussions can help kids connect joyful springtime celebrations with the message of Jesus Christ.

Hands-on activities give children a way to see, touch, and experience the story of Easter in a way they can understand.

Let’s help our children feel the spirit of Easter and remember that He is Risen! 💛
