Doctrine and Covenants 1 emphasizes that the commandments and revelations in this volume are true and come directly from God, to prepare the world for Christ’s Second Coming. The Lord calls upon all to repent, promising blessings for obedience and judgments for rebellion. His servants, especially prophets, are chosen to carry His message, and assures that His words will be fulfilled.
